A tribute celebrating the life, films and music of Hollywood star Doris Day will be performed at the Liverpool Fringe Festival this October.
Jackie Mitchell will appear as Doris Daydream in The Doris Show at The Studio Beyond on Wood Street on Tuesday 6 October at 6pm.
The one-hour production explores Doris Dayβs rise to fame, her film career, personal life, leading men and lifelong commitment to animal welfare.
It will also feature several of the singerβs best-known songs, including The Deadwood Stage, Secret Love, Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps and Que Sera Sera.
Jackie said performing the show in Liverpool held particular significance because of her family connections to the city.
She said: βThis feels particularly special and I cannot wait to bring Doris Dayβs timeless songs, stories and vintage glamour to Liverpool.
βI do not think people realise what an amazing life she led. It is wonderful that the songs continue to be so popular, even though they were recorded in the 1950s and 1960s.β
The Liverpool performance follows appearances at the Guildford and Brighton fringe festivals, as well as a theatre production at Hampton Hill Theatre in Surrey.
Jackie previously performed as Doris Daydream at care homes, community centres and retirement villages before developing the full stage show.
The production combines live music with stories from Doris Dayβs life and career, while encouraging audience members to join in with some of her most familiar songs.
Jackie comes from a family of stage, film and television performers and works as a singer, actor, author and journalist.
The Doris Show will take place at The Studio Beyond, 63 Wood Street, Liverpool, on Tuesday 6 October at 6pm. Tickets are priced at Β£12.
